Pregnyl consists of a lyophilized powder for injection and a solvent for reconstitution. The active ingredient [human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG)], which is obtained from the urine of pregnant women, has a luteinizing hormone (LH) effect.
In women:Induction of ovulation in infertility due to anovulation or incomplete maturation of the follicles. Preparation of the follicles for puncture, in programs of controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (for medically assisted reproduction techniques).Support of the luteal phase.
in men:Hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (also cases of idiopathic dyspermia have shown a positive response to gonadotropins).Delayed puberty, related to insufficient gonadotropic function of the pituitary gland.
